Emergency Lighting

Code of practice for the emergency lighting of premises

At Fire Stoppers Ltd, we know that businesses are required by law to provide emergency escape lighting if needed. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order of 2005 states that emergency routes and exits requiring illumination must be provided with emergency lighting of adequate intensity in the case of failure of their usual lighting.

We provide service checks both annually and every 6 months, to keep your business within the law. We usually offer this alongside our other services, keeping your business's costs to a minimum.

AT FIRE STOPPERS LTD, THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF EMERGENCY LIGHT FITTINGS THAT WE CAN HELP WITH. WE CAN ALSO ASSIST ON WHICH ONE WOULD BE BEST SUITED FOR YOUR BUSINESS. HERE ARE THE LIGHT FITTINGS THAT WE CAN SERVICE:

  1. Maintained fitting, this will operate as a normal light. However, if the power fails then the fitting will continue to operate on batterys back up supply.
  1. Non-maintained fitting, this lighting is usually switched off - the batteries inside are being continually charged. If the power does fail then the fitting will turn on using the battery supply.
